Juniper's Book Club

I can't tell you how many times I've heard or said "I wish I were in a book club..."

So let's do this thing!  Let's make our own club, and choose our own books, and tell our own stories!  Let's make it casual, where you can drop in if you like the book and no problem if you don't.

Are you in???

I'm thinking that the last Friday of each month could be Hope Studios' Book Club where we can discuss that we've read.

Let's begin with a roll call of everyone interested and your vote for our first book...

September Book Choices:

Cutting for Stone by Abraham Verghese

Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn

Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides

The Fifty Shades Trilogy

It's Feedback Friday...

Would you like to start our own online book club?

What title would get your vote for the first discussion?

Is one book a month too ambitious?

  1. I think it sounds like fun - I love to read. I tried Cuttingf fo Stone already and couldn't get into it, and Fifty Shades isn't my thang, but he others sound like titles I have heard were good so I'm in!

  4. I vote for Gone Girl since it is the only one I haven't read yet. Sounds like fun.

  5. I've read Cutting for Stone and LOVED it! So I vote for Middlesex or Gone Girl. But even though I've already read Fifty Shades of Grey, I have a feeling the discussion would be interesting.

    1. I added Middlesex after the discussion about the boy undergoing this very issue in our middle school. I've heard it is very eye opening.

  6. Fun idea :) I'd like to think once school is up and running I could do at least one book a month..... All of the book choices sound good!

  7. I'm in! I've read 50 Shades, but none of the other ones. I checked them out on Amazon, and the descriptions all sound good. I'll read whatever you choose :)

  8. Ha! I´ve always, always wanted to be in a book club! I´m in!

I´ve just read those 50 shades, but since I found them ridicoulus, I wouldn´mind trying one of the other three...Gone Girl looks most promising to me!

I´m currently reading the Game of Thrones series, and I can only highly recommend them, but I might fit something else in between :)

  11. Sounds fun! I usually read about a book a week. Usually I am reading more than one book at a time with a different book waiting in several rooms. I read the first 50 shades book which was recommended to me by my cousin, thought it was poorly written so I haven't read the others.
