Will You Marry Me? Feedback Friday

We all heard about Kanye's recent over-the-top marriage proposal to Kim (like THAT will last) and it got me to thinking about one of my favorite topics...

Tell me your Proposal Story!

  2. Am I the only one that likes to watch proposal videos?
One of the best moments of my life:
Feb 2, 1996. My husband woke me up, blindfolded me, and drove me out to a secluded lakeside beach. We ate Corn Pops by candle light and then watched the sunrise. Then he pulled out his guitar and seranded me with "If I Were" of Kermit the Frog fame http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WT1p3KyaW-I and Smashing Pumpkin's "Luna" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_4DFbKo61dE and "I Give You My Lovin" by Mazzy Star. Then he told me that he had always loved those songs, but never had a girl that he could sing them too. He then popped out a $10 silver ring (we got a real one later, but I still wear it on my left hand) and said lots of nice things that made me cry and asked me to be his wife. Let's hear yours.

  3. Ha, Ha! I just listened to all the songs too!

Our first date was on the 4th of July, so that day has always been significant to us.

On 4th of July, 1995 on our 3 year dating anniversary, The Big Guy told me he had an anniversary surprised planned and that I had to follow the scavenger hunt clues to find it. That is so my thing so I set off running all over our townhouse and around the grounds of our place, back and forth to the mailbox, out to the gazebo, upstairs, downstairs...

I collected clues to the next location and roses at each spot and he followed me around taking pictures of me the whole time. As you all know I love pictures so I cherish them.

Finally, I read that the final clue would be in the fireplace so I ran back inside and began to search inside the fire place only to find a clue that read "Turn around".

I turned around to my Big Guy on his knee with a ring (I'm bawling right now just like I was back then).

It was a great day. A cherished memory. :) (sob, sob, sob....)

  5. On Valentine's Day 2009 I was in the basement doing laundry, my trusty dog came down the stairs to join me, which isn't odd as he is always at my side. I reached over to scratch his ears and noticed he had a scarf on. The scarf had a note attached to it. It said "Will you marry me?"

I went upstairs to find my then boyfriend on one knee with a diamond ring.

How could I say no?! I loved that he caught me by surprise and included my dog who is my best pal in the special moment.
