Today it is plain and simple for Feedback Friday...

Would you ever consider installing a urinal in a bathroom in your home?

  1. Erm, no! What on earth would I want one for?? I do have a man living in my house (he's my husband, not just some random man), but he goes in the toilet, like normal men at home!

  2. Ha! That would make some kinda funky wet bar. Just imagine the party conversation ;->

  3. May be in a basement bathroom---a basement that was more like a workshop than a family/media room.

  4. Yes. My 9 year old is terrified of the flushing sound of toilets (he's autistic and very sound sensitive.) He will ONLY use the urinal in public bathrooms. At home, you can often here us yelling "FLUSH & RUN!" trying to get him to flush the toilet.

  5. I've considered this several times....maybe weekly. 3/4 of our household stands up to pee. Therefore, 1/4 of our household is cleaning up their messes when their aim is off. errrrrr. Just not sure how the resale value would be after getting one of those put in....ha!

  7. Ha ha - half of the four male members of this household sit to pee - and eventually all of them will be out on their own, so NO, I do not want ugly plumbing in my house. I can see where it would be good for very large households of men, tho. (:

  8. I have two boys (plus a husband) and I've thought it would be a fantastic idea. I love it, and if we remodeled our bath, I think I would do it!

  9. I get it. With a husband and three sons (the youngest being 5 and forgetting to 'pay attention' to what he's doing) cleaning the toilet is always a much more disgusting job than just cleaning the toilet. I also think that it would probably save TONS of water (since 4/5 of our household is male and would use a urinal 5/6 more often than a toilet). We have toyed with the idea if we ever finish the bathroom adjacent to our family room, especially with increasing numbers of boys hanging out when the kids aren't in school.

  10. YES! I HATE cleaning up after 2 "boys". I don't know how you can stand it with 4!
Urinal, bidet, you name it, I want it!

  11. My grandma had only two bathrooms in her home and one had only a urinal. It was such a pain in the butt . We would have to go upstairs to pee and downstairs to shower. I'd say go for it if you can ALSO have a toilet. Otherwise, teach the boys to aim. :)

  12. Funny you should post this today, only a few days ago my husband was complaining again about lifting the toilet seat up and down. It would be useful to have one just to keep him quiet!

  13. I have said that if we ever come into a a silly amount of money, I'd install a little toilet and a urinal. Little people need a little potty and boys need a urinal.

  14. Are you kidding? Dang it! Why have I never thought of this before!! I have five boys and one husband....and as much as it pains me to say it, their aim is usually off. :) I think it's an interesting idea

  15. My husband keeps asking for one and his dad begged for one in his basement half bath. Both my mother in law and I are adamant that they can't have one. Maybe if we had a bonafide man cave, but we don't.

  16. HAHA! The thought never even crossed my mind. I guess it would be a good conversation piece for the bathroom connected to "the man cave".

  17. Um, not so much. ;) Girls outnumber boys in our house for now. ;)

  18. Forget it.... ain't happening around here...

  19. NO! But a friend of ours installed one in their basement bath. He thought it would be easier for the kids...I still wouldn't do it!

  20. Yes! Because even though the diameter of a toilet bowl is HUGE compared to a stream of man pee, they still seam to miss and it gets all splashy! The urinal keeps it all confined!! LOL If I had a house full of boys, I would so do this.

  21. We have one! Our house was built back in the 70's and comes complete with a harvest gold urinal. It's not a thing of beauty, but with three boys, it is wonderful. It's so much easier to just take a wipe and clean a little puddle on the floor than try to clean every small crack on and around the toilet. I never want to live without one again.

  22. With three little boys it is very tempting...

  23. LOL. That's awesome. Believe it or not, I've never ever seen that before at anyone's house.

  24. Even if we had one, I think my boys (and I mean my husband mostly) would still prefer to pee outside if they could!

  25. absolutely! Without a doubt! It's on my list! I have an incredibly tall husband, so let's just say he makes a big splash in our bathroom that is not welcomed by my mop! AND I would love love love to stop falling in the toilet in the middle of the night because he left the toilet seat up again. It's kinda like a his and hers toilet combo. I love it!

  26. Uh - no - but with that being said... My hubby does have his own bathroom in the house so if he wanted one AND he cleaned it - I would be okay with that.

  27. Heck no!! My in-laws have one in their backyard!!

  28. I never thought about it and i had 3 boys who are now all grown up.
BUT, if they still lived at home I might consider it.

  29. Yes! 4 out of 7 in our family are male and it is on the list of things I would add to my dream home.
