Spy Phones - Feedback Friday

A friend forwarded a news story to me last week about spy software for cell phones. I actually remembered someplace in my memory banks that I've seen a commercial for this already, but didn't fully understand.

Check out this video:

I guess they are marketing this "tool" to spy on spouses and teens...

Thoughts, comments?

  1. Interesting, but I don't think I would do it. What I don't know won't hurt me...excuse me while I bury my hand in the sand with my rose colored glasses on.

  2. I've heard of this before. Mobile phones are getting creepy when anyone can listen in!
Taking out the battery is a good idea though, as there are far too many batteries for phones now. What would be the chances of them having the same battery as you?

  3. Not a good idea.....just like OnStar. If you have it in your car you can be listened in on as well. Or even better, have your car turned off at anytime.
This week was the very first time OnStar was used to stop a car with a suspected criminal in it.
Just saying...cell,OnStar and other new techy things sound great but what is the trade off?

  4. That is just creepy! This happened to a friend of mine. Her husband installed the software on her phone as well as their two daughters. So every time she came over to my house, she would take the battery out of her phone. He liked to keep tabs on where she was at all times. Super jerk! Thank goodness they are now happily divorced. He still stalks her, but not through the phone anymore!

  5. Wow! What will they think of next? I will have to say that I have a GPS location system activated on my daughter's cell phone so that I can see where she is at. I did this after she recently decided to run away. And she knows that it is on there.
Wishing you a picture perfect day!

  6. Things seem to be getting more and more 'Big Brother' all the time.

And I agree with marzipanmom - trust is a wonderful thing.

That being said, check back with me when Princess Nagger gets old enough for a cell phone and driving...I might think differently. (grin!)
