This is my kitchen table...
I love to have little things around, easily accessible to my kids (and myself) to spark creativity at any second...
A cookie jar of crayons has been my centerpiece for this table for the last year or so and I love that it encourages them (and me) to draw, color, or doodle whenever inspiration strikes...
Try it, you might like it!

Love your table and chairs. I do the same thing. Claire has her own table and chairs in the kitchen and on it she has a lazy susan with silver buckets filled with colored pencils, crayons, and markers. I am so lucky that she would rather sit and draw then watch t.v!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea! I love the display - it inspires (something I'm thinking about today) and it's colorful. Allz I've got is a basket of napkins. Hmm... It could take family dinners to a whole new level!
ReplyDeleteThat's so cute an colorful - I just got rid of the last of the crayons...my kiddos are gettin' too stinkin' old! Plus, they tend to cluster in the garage with all the neighborhood kids until chow call (:
ReplyDeletewhat an awesome idea!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhen your kids go to other Mom's houses with fancy centerpieces, they probably remember how cool their mom is for having crayons!
ReplyDeleteMy 2 guys were always encouraged to be creative. We made lots of messes but always had a great time. I remember once putting them both in the bathtub with a bowl of chocolate pudding...they used the pudding like finger paints and the tiled wall like a canvas...they had a blast...and that was when they were 23 and 25...;-) Just kidding...they were 4 & 6. I miss those days.
ReplyDeleteOur crayons and markers are in an IKEA tray in a corner, together with sketch books and recycling paper... easy access to the kiddies whenever they feel like it. :)
ReplyDeleteI love your kitchen table!

ReplyDeleteP.S. The table is gorgeous.
What a fabulous idea! I love it! I'd just make sure there was paper somewhere close or you might be in trouble..
ReplyDeleteThat's a neat idea, Jennifer! :) My little one would probably find a way to break the jar, but the 4 year old would love it!
ReplyDeleteI love this idea Jen!!! Now for a paper tablecloth =)
