We celebrated our 14th Wedding Anniversary yesterday and you know I had to pull out my wedding dress! I horrified my kids by running around the back yard in it for a bit.
They grabbed the camera, so this is what I look like explaining how to work the camera...while in a wedding dress:
This is what I look like jumping around in the back yard...in a wedding dress:
My 9 year old decided to recreate one of our wedding photos. We were inspired by the Young Me Now Me website.
THEN:
NOW:
I started to plan our annual watching of the Wedding Video only to realize our last household VCR croaked this year, and my video is on VHS! Note: need to copy that video onto DVD!
We all went out for Italian and played Frisbee in the yard instead.
We exchanged cards and laughed when we realized we had bought each other the husband/wife version of the same card!
Good times. Ready to begin another year of wedded bliss :)

Congratulations on 14 wonderful years!! (we have 12 under our belt). Might I say, MY GOD you look good in a wedding dress from 14 years ago and it fits like you wore it yesterday. Mine, not so much. totally jealous here!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! The pictures of you jumping around the backyard in your wedding dress are so cute, love them! You know you were meant for eachother when you want to say the same thing in a card! Theresa
ReplyDeleteI am so impressed that it still fits!!! Good for you!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on 14 years! I love that you put your wedding dress on and danced around the yard!!! Such a hoot :D I'm totally impressed that your wedding dress fits you wonderfully after all these years! You go girl!
ReplyDeleteDid you wear you wedding dress out for dinner and for Frisbee?

This is my favorite post ever!
Thanks for starting my day with a smile!! I was just telling my some family members about this crazy lady I met on the internet who dons her wedding dress on her anniversary and prances around the neighborhood. First they looked at me in a strange way, then they smiled and secretly wished they could do the same ;-)
ReplyDeleteYou rock girl!!!!
proud to call you friend,
Janet
Happy Anniversary! I remember last year's photo. I will say, though, that he should have put on a tux. :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary!!! I am trying not to hate you for being able to wear your wedding dress after 14 years! ;)
ReplyDeleteYou are a beautiful couple!!
those pics are oh -so-awesome! congrats!!
ReplyDeleteyou know, my 5 yr old son really likes to look at our wedding photos and comments often on how much he likes my dress - he tells me he wants the girl he marries to wear it - HA - we'll see how that one goes over....
Congratulations! :-)
ReplyDeleteThat is AWESOME! I haven't tried my dress on because I know that I'll just cry when it doesn't button up the back. Oh, well. That's what having four kids will do to you. Totally worth it!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on 14 years! I love hearing successful marriage stories! There are so few of them these days...
You were a beautiful bride then and now. I love the idea of watching the wedding video on your anniversary. Mine is in a couple of weeks. I'll have to dust off the old video. I actually still have a working VCR!
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary!
happy anniversary!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary! 14 years---thats awesome :). My friend is a wedding photog and "wreck the dress" sessions are huge now! They go out after the wedding and take all of the fun photos that you wouldn't dare on your wedding day :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats! We celebrated our 13th on Memorial Day. Our daughter had to go to school (snow make up day) so I volunteered in her class, then my husband and son came to eat lunch with us. We picked her up later and we all went to the park for a picnic, then out for ice cream. My dress is in a box somewhere, preserved for who-knows-what! Awesome that you can still wear yours!
ReplyDeleteHoly goodness gracious! You still fit in your dress (and looked good!!). I am impressed. The only way I would fit in my wedding dress would involve some clothes pins and duct tape. Lots and lots of duct tape. :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats! You look great in your wedding dress from 14 years ago! I hope in 12 years (when I celebrate my 14th anniversary) that I still fit into mine :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats! You look great in your wedding dress from 14 years ago! I hope in 12 years (when I celebrate my 14th anniversary) that I still fit into mine :)
ReplyDeleteThat is so cute. Congrats on 14 years.
ReplyDeleteI sold my dress. Now I regret it. Not that I could still fit in it, but I still regret it.
We can't watch our wedding video without laughing hysterically! It's always so awkward to watch yourself on video, or is that just me?!?
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary!!!! It speaks volumes about your relationship that you even buy similar anniv. cards!! Too cute!
Judy@cutest-little-things
Awesome! So cool that the dress still fits!
ReplyDeleteI'm so impressed that it fits! Good for you! :)
ReplyDeleteEverything down to the matching cards makes me think you two are absolutely perfect for each other. I'm wishing you many more years of wedded bliss and dancing around in your dress! You are so cute. ♥
ReplyDeleteCongrats! And it sounds like you had a great day! It's cool that you involved the kids - love the photog's mad skills!
ReplyDeleteThat is SO GREAT!!! And you still fit your dress. My leg won't even fit in mine. You two haven't even aged. Conrats to you too.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!...and seriously...you fit your dress? I don't have mine, but I know I wouldn't even be able to get it on:) I'm glad you had such a wonderful day!
ReplyDeleteHappy Anny to you two! Wow, I wish I could still fit in my wedding dress. I'm only two years out and I don't stand a freaking chance!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the photo shoot!
How sweet you both bought the same card. That says something in itself. Happy Anniversary. Gorgeous gown.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on 14 years!! I think my dress is at my Mom's makes me wonder if I would still fit in it.
ReplyDeleteI love that you both bought the same card, Happy Anniversary!!
Happy Anniversary! We're coming up on 13. I'm very impressed that you fit into your wedding dress and look just as you did on your wedding day!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE that you do this every year! You look gorgeous! And what a great recreation ;) Sound like a great night with MANY more ahead! Happy Anniversary!
ReplyDeleteCongrats not only on the anniversary but also on the fact that you still fit your dress 14 years later!
ReplyDeleteI wish I could try mine on again (we celebrate our 3rd this October), but I had it preserved and in a box because my mother-in-law and sister-in-law designed and made it for me so I'm hoping to at least pass the fabric down to our daughter to use how she wants.
I think it's awesome that it still looks just as amazing on you! I don't think I could even begin to zip mine up and it's only been 3 years. Darn baby widened my hips. HA!
ReplyDeleteYou're so cute I can barely stand it. Congrats on 14 years!
ReplyDeleteYou both look amazing! You look just the same even!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! And I enjoyed the "then and now" pictures.
ReplyDeleteLOL, we do the same thing - watch our wedding highlights video every year on our anniversary. And ours is on VHS too - that is truly the only reason we still have a VCR. The good news for you is that you can pick one up cheap these days. But you're right; both of us should get those transferred to DVD.
