I pull out my "fancy" things for special meals like Easter, like my silver butter dish. After sitting sad and alone in the cupboard all year, it looks pretty tarnished. Want a quick and easy way to get your silver sparkling again before your Easter meal?
Real Simple taught me how to
Polish My Silver:
Wash items, then place on aluminum foil in the bottom of a pot.
Add a baking-soda solution (1/4 cup baking soda, a few teaspoons salt, 1 quart boiling water) and cover for a few seconds.
Ta-da! Sparkling Silver!
**I have a big Feedback Friday planned for this week. To be prepared, I'm going to ask you to link a photo - so have your camera ready and some way to post it (either blog, flickr, twitter) so you can link up and join us!**
.
I'm intrigued!

Have a delicious day!
I clean a lot of silver since I use silverplate flatware everyday. I bought (at the Dollar Tree) a couple of disposable aluminum pans. I have been using the same one for my flatware now (instead of a sheet of aluminum foil) for about a year. Just wanted to throw that in the mix. Cleaning silver has never been easier!
ReplyDeleteGreat tip!!! I like that solution much better than buying the expensive cleaner!
ReplyDeleteI did NOT know that! I have lots of silver doo-dads and am going to try this! Thanks
