Okay, here is the latest controversy on the web. Watch the following viral video and tell me what you think.
It's Feedback Friday...
Is this messy video real or a set up?
What crazy messes have your kids made over the years?
What crazy messes have your kids made over the years?
I have a memory of one little girl who emptied the contents of every spice and herb and extract onto the carpet one night about 39 years ago. She was very quiet and I slept right through it. Hmmmmmmm
ReplyDeletemy husband and i are of the thought that it really happened, but the video itself is pretty staged. we have had huge messes and spills in our house. a dumped bag of flour really isn't that serious in my book. now if it was paint, i would've been freaking out like the gal was.
ReplyDeleteI saw the video on Ellen and the first thing I wondered was if it was staged. If so, that's a lot of mess to clean up just to have a popular youtube video!!
ReplyDeleteStaged. The flour was sprinkled perfectly on the picture frames and several other places, which only an adult would do....
ReplyDeleteI say it´s real.
ReplyDeleteMy twins are almost 5 now, and with agem, they are becoming slightly reasonable, but oh how I remember the time they used to paint the house with dirt from outside, sprinkle themselves with tapestry glue they found in the garage, smear nivea to the freshly painted walls, and of course, paint with markers on every available surface.
Actually, my daughters never were this bad. I´m not sure whether it was because they are twins, or because they are boys, or if it´s just the combination of the two, but yeah, I´m pretty convinced this video didn´t need to be staged...
Ignore Anonymous everyone - she is not my mother in case you are wondering :)
ReplyDeleteMy husband thinks it is staged, but honestly kids can do some pretty "creative" things left to their own devices. I recall my friend checking up on her two girls, probably preschool/toddler age and they were having fun sliding on the vegetable oil from the jumbo size container they dumped out onto the kitchen floor.
ReplyDeleteThe fact that's it's way up high on the picture frames makes me wonder. However, I know first hand how much of a mess a sample size container of baby powder can make, so I have no doubts that a 5lb bag of flour could cover the area.
ReplyDeleteStaged or not, what a mess they had to clean up!
I think it really happened, but the video was done later. The reason I say that is because most women I know would have been ALOT more upset than she was.... probably screaming and yelling.. ha ha!
ReplyDeleteI think the kids really did it. My sister and I and a neighbor boy got into the Nestle Quik when we were about 3 and made a huge mess in my mom's kitchen. I think this mom was calm on the video because she wanted to capture the kids still playing with the flour.
ReplyDeleteIt has to be staged. Kids that little would have a hard time lifting a 5-pound bag of flour and would not have enough control to get it so evenly dispersed in such high places. And there are no hand or footprints on the couch. I don't know how they'll clean up the furniture, because I know how hard it is to get even just a little flour off my shirt or pants without tossing them in the wash... I bet they'll be cleaning up flour dust for years.
ReplyDeleteMy 7yo could carry gallon paint cans around the house when he was only 2, so I think the kids could have done it, but the video seems a bit staged.
ReplyDeleteMy now 15yo made quite a few messes like that when he was little. He was just so fast. I would head into the bathroom to pee(super quick) and in the 30 seconds that the door was closed he could access nail polish, open it, and paint stripes all the way across the walls and tv screen.
And a friend's son had painted walls and carpet with the contents of a dirty diaper on more than one occasion. Some kids can make a heck of a mess in the tiniest sliver of time.
The video seems kind of staged, but I think the kids could have made a mess like that on their own, given the time. And honestly...it's flour...it would vacuum up pretty easily. I would just be thinking...thank goodness it wasn't _________________. And about a million things could fill in that blank.
ReplyDeleteI think it's real because that would be too much trouble to go through just for a viral video. My kids have done some crazy things in the past, never this bad but I can believe that something like this is possible.
