Weekend Update and Giveaway!

Business is good!! The Big Guy and I have planned his 50th birthday trip to our happy place, Key West, for April and I had enough money in my Rodan + Fields account to pay for the plane tickets!!!

I know this might sound small to some of you, but I get such joy from being able to provide things for our family and for my hubs who works hard every day to provide for all of US! I love that feeling of independence.  So, now I'm saving up my next paycheck to buy him a day of "flats fishing" while we're there. Squeeeeee!!!!

I have grown my business over the last 4 months or so to 27 customers by washing my face and talking about it, posting on facebook and instagram, and reaching out via email and text message. This new business has really been a blessing so far.

A lot of people have been asking me about my paychecks...I'll just start from the beginning and show you the progression of the last 4 months:

December was a little slow due to the holiday but I have picked right back up in January so far. I'm rollin'!

I'm still using the Reverse Regimen for my own skin and incorporated the Accelerator Pack for my stubborn age spots along with the Macro-Exfoliator. An added bonus was the decreased appearance of my laugh lines! Who knew?? (scroll down for a giveaway!)

Here is my new favorite R+F story for this month - Jamie has been so successful and is such an inspiration to me in my business!

If you have any questions about this business please don't hesitate to email me hopestudios1(at)gmail(dot)com

If you have any interest in these skin products contact me! I would love to give you a free skin consultation and send you some samples of some of my favorite products!

If you can connect me with someone who might benefit from this business or products let me know and I will send you a little something as a thank you. :)

Did you make it to the end of this post to learn about the giveaway?  Do you also have expression lines either around your mouth like me, on your forehead, between your eyes, or crow's feet?  We have a product called Acute Care - "a wrinkle reducing patch" that can reduce your expression lines after 4 weeks. No needles! Think of it as a needle-free botox!

I have 5 samples for the first 5 comments on this post. I'll pop one in the mail to you so you can try it for yourself!  Check out one of the overnight before and afters I have collected from people who have tried a sample:

Good luck!

Cooking Ahead Before Surgery

My ACL repair surgery is coming up next Thursday, so I have been in my nesting phase in the few days I have left at home.  Aside from cleaning (and finally taking down the basement Christmas tree!!) I have been cooking meals to store in my freezer for days when I don't feel like getting up to hobble around the kitchen!

I bought a bunch of aluminum pans and gallon sized ziploc bags to store the meals in the freezer.

Rigatoni with Meat Sauce - I think we all know how to make this?

ACL Drama

So, I have been a little MIA for the past week...

Last Saturday, I fell while skiing and tore my ACL.  Everyone who knows me knows that I'm a super active mom and an ACL is needed for most everything I love in life.  I was in a state of mourning for about 6 days. My youngest son told me I needed to come up with some new hobbies and that crying can't be one of them!

On day 6, I got my MRI results and saw that there wasn't a tear but that the ACL was totally severed - gone.  I feel like that got me over the hump into acceptance that the first surgery of my life was imminent.  I have scheduled it for February 4th and started "pre-hab" to prep my knee for surgery by working on my quad, hamstring, calf and glutes.

People, I'm scared $hitless over this surgery and equally scared at the prospect of not having it.

I've been looking into it and I learned that in Europe most people rehab and adjust their activity level and forgo the surgery. I'm feeling very American in my stubborn desire to keep my life and activity level exactly the same.

So, I look to you for words of wisdom, advice, experiences... Any ACL stories out there?

Homemade Gummies

My youngest is a candy addict and also going through a phase where he is realizing that processed foods don't have to come from a factory.  He has been experimenting with some recipes trying to duplicate his favorite (packaged) foods.  He watches YouTube series that teach him how to cook and anything on YouTube seems cool to him.

His first recipe was Gummy Candy!

1 -3 oz box of flavored gelatin
2 – 1/4 oz  packages of unflavored gelatin
1/3 cup water
candy molds (we used silicon ice cube trays)

Place 1/3 cup water in a small sauce pan. Sprinkle the Jello and unflavored gelatin over the water. Let sit 5 – 10 minutes.

Place sauce pan over medium heat and stir until gelatin is dissolved, about 2-5 minutes.
When mixture is liquid and all gelatin has dissolved, remove from heat.

Let cool a minute and then pour into a glass measuring cup with a spout. Let sit for about 10 minutes then skim off the layer of bubbles that forms on top like a skin. I actually repeated this step about 10 minutes after pouring into the molds if there was a layer of bubbles on top. This is what gives you clear gummy candy like from the store.

Pour into molds and let sit several hours to set.

Taste Test!

Taking the Leap!

Have you ever been offended when someone offered you a job? Do you, instead, feel a little flattered that they would think of you and want to work with you on a regular basis?  Is every opportunity for you?  No.

I'm offering to help you start your own skincare business along with me.  Will it be for you?  Probably not.  It takes a certain type of personality to take a leap like this and forge ahead with this new business model.  In fact, 2.5% of the population are self-starters, entrepreneurs, innovators.  That is the percentage I'm looking for.

Have you been thinking of taking the leap to starting your own business in 2016?  No parties, no inventory, no office? It's your lucky day!  Sarah Robbins just released the 2106 Business Opportunity Call last week so take a listen to the anonymous, recorded call :

So what about the other 97.5% of you?  I can offer you great skin, anti-aging solutions, sensitive skin options, sun damage repair, and acne resolution.  Are you a consultant, a customer or a connector?  100% of you fit into one of those 3 categories.

Have questions?  email me (hopestudios1(at)gmail(dot)com to ask questions or find out more, no pressure, no strings attached.  Happy 2016!
