Growing up, my mom never wasted extra cake frosting. She always used it to make a little treat for us. I remember as a child, loving the soft graham cracker and sweet frosting confections...a rare treat.
So why don't you...Spread your extra frosting between graham crackers:
Wrap in foil overnight:
And enjoy!
Yum!

Okay, I'm sitting here with a tummy ache as I write this because I am, apparently, unable to control myself. I ate so many of this new c...
I can't believe there is another person out there who grew up on these little treats. I thought we were the only ones who ate frosting sandwiches. ;) Although we had no patience, so we usually ate them immediately after spreading the frosting on.
ReplyDeleteDelish! And what a cute crew!
ReplyDeleteGosh that looks good.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was single, I used to eat graham crackers with choco frosting for breakfast.
thats a fab idea....we have some in the fridge from this past weekend:) buttercream!
ReplyDeleteHow nice, now that I just discovered the joys of frosting!
ReplyDeleteOn my blog you asked how we usually frost cupcakes - well, I´m not sure if that´s even called frosting, or icing - we either pour melted chocolate over the cupcakes, (and add sprinkles on top), or we pour a mixture of lemon juice and powdered sugar over it (and add sprinkles in top.) Yeah, sprinkles seem to be important.
But cupcakes in general are a pretty new thing in Germany, that only developed within the last 10, 15 years, and this beautifully shaped "hat" of thick, creamy frosting is completely unknown in Germany. Sigh.
Thanks again, dear internet!
Awesome! I remember having those in the cafeteria back in elementary school!
ReplyDeleteOne of my fav treats growing up...ok...still is...I LOVE them frozen.
ReplyDeleteThat's a great tip! I usually stick mine in a Tupperware container in the fridge and forget about it. :s

ReplyDeleteWow---I completely forgot about these!!! My great aunt would freeze them and give them to us when we visited (that and her frosing roses...never sure why she always had SO many in her freezer, maybe just for our delight--she was sweet like that!)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the great idea! My boys will love this. The only problem is their mother has a huge sweet tooth and usually hides in the corner of the kitchen with a spoon and eats the leftover frosting!!!! I will try and control myself and give this recipe a try. :)
ReplyDeleteAte these as a kid! I can still taste them! We are making cupcakes today and will BE SAVING THE EXTRA FROSTING YUMMERS!
ReplyDeleteLeftover frosting? What do mean leftover frosting? I have never heard of such a thing, lol. If I do ever have any though, I will have to give this a try.
ReplyDeleteStop....your killing me here!!! I just walked in the door from visiting with my Dr. where she informed me my avoiding sugar and walking everyday has helped me loose 12 lbs...and now you are tempting me with these lovelies ;-(
ReplyDeleteThey do look divine and my guys would have loved them when they were little...heck, they would like them today!

ReplyDeleteOh my. As if I needed another reason to make EXTRA frosting. ;)
ReplyDeleteLooks yummy! We always just stick our fingers in the jar and ate the frosting straight up! :)
