Is it just me?
I always record my boys' injuries with my camera...maybe it comes with the territory when you have 3 boys? Maybe I'm a sick-o? Maybe I want photo evidence of what they put me through someday?
Yes,that is a giant stick of pepperoni he is eating. After 3 hours in the E.R., he could have anything he wanted!
So here is the latest from my middle son's dirt bike crash this weekend.
Wouldn't you know that the handlebar would find that one 3 inch space protected only by goggles???
Dang boys!

Okay, I'm sitting here with a tummy ache as I write this because I am, apparently, unable to control myself. I ate so many of this new c...
OUCH! I must call my husband and once again reiterate that dirt bikes are too dangerous for my babies. Poor guy.
ReplyDeleteMy boys were on baseball teams from the time they were old enough for t-ball. They played catch in the backyard for years as they were both catchers. Wouldn't you know that on a summer visit with my parents, a ball came up out of the catcher's mitt and hit my youngest son at his eye fracturing the top of his cheek bone? "Dang boys" is right! (The youngest is now 39, is a chemistry teacher and just 2 months ago had an experiment blow up in the classroom badly burning him. They never grow out of it!)
ReplyDeleteOuch! Did you get questioned about 85 times in the ER? A few years ago, my youngest broke his nose "falling down the stairs" and I was just hoping they believed us.
ReplyDeletePoor thing! It is definitely an adventure with boys. I have tons of similar photos. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteYou so aren't a sick-o...injuries are part of life and are distinct memories that often are oddly cherished. It isn't just boys though my dainty little 6 year-old girl has had 16 stitches and two staples in the course of five years. Plus a black eye and other trips to the ER for things like sticking beads up her nose. Her brother hasn't ever been to the ER once.

I was just thinking it had been a while since we have seen an injury in your blog. Poor guy! Hope the pepperoni stick helped him feel better :-)
ReplyDeleteOuch! Poor guy. Hope he's feeling better soon!
ReplyDeletePoor baby...that looks like it hurt. Glad he is enjoying his pepperoni.
ReplyDeletepoor kid! It's not just boys! My 8 yo is nicknamed Danger Girl. She's been to the ER more times than all the other kids combined. I have 6. She has had 3 concussions, dislocated her elbow & her shoulder (at the same time), glued together 3 or 4 times, stitches, miscellaneous sprains, and as we expected, the first broken bone! She just had to do a timeline project for school and we picked her major injury for each year :p
ReplyDeleteWow.... he did a doozie on that one! Hope it heals up fast!!!
ReplyDeleteawwwh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Poor thing :( Yep, lots of extra spoiling is needed!
ReplyDeleteOh! I can't imagine how painful that was to your son. What did the doctor advise you to do? Hmm... Maybe, someone bumped your son's bike that's why the handlebar hit his eyes.
