In my house (which happens to be full of children) I find that many ordinary utensils take on additional duties. I mean, why let a fork just be a fork?!?
Seriously.
So, here are a few of the double duty utensils we use from day to day:
Corn holders serve as apple holders (this began when the kids were small and wanted to eat whole, peeled apples. Whole peeled apples are very messy!):
Pizza cutter? Nah, it's a waffle/pancake/sandwich cutter, man!
Do you like sliced eggs on your salad? Well, kids think it's so fun to eat round, sliced anything! Slice up some boiled eggs in the morning (My kids call these "boy eggs" by the way. That's cute.)
And look at the quick work it makes of bananas and strawberries!
So tell me...what ordinary utensils do you use in an extraordinary way in your home?
