Trick or Treat! Finally!

Our trick or treat got postponed due to the coming of Sandy last week but the boys finally got to go on Saturday!  You have no idea how hard it was to hold them off!

 We had one creepy little devil:

And an 11 year old's attempt at irony - a pretty princess with a mustache surprise:

The original plan was to have a full mustache, beard, and chest hair but alas we lost those main components right before Halloween. They turned up yesterday! 

 I always dress up for Trick or Treat with the boys and this year I was a cat, thanks to this $3 kitty hat from Target and a makeup inspiration from Pinterest:

 

Finally, the next morning it was time to sort, arrange and catalog all candy. This was a 1 hour process! My youngest son is OBSESSED with candy!

My Halloween Costume Revealed

Sooooo, I had two costumes this year. One for a Halloween party we attended with friends. Little Dead Riding Hood and The Big Bad Wolf: (hey, what do you think of my dollar store mantle decor?)



Before we all headed out on the town, we looked like this:



The Mad Hatter you see? He won $200 bucks in cold, hard cash at one of the costume contests he entered that night!

But I had a different costume lined up for neighborhood trick-or-treating with my kids. This costume may need no explanation for some since you had my back (right, Janet?), but others may need some background information. If so, click here to read the full story.



Yep, I was Dewey Beach Boy this year! I walked from door-to-door and spoke to every single person in my neighborhood with that costume on. Let's just say there was a sufficient response from a particular person to solve the mystery to my satisfaction.

Skeletons, Werewolfs, and Plumbers...Oh my!

Halloween has come and gone in an anti-climatic whirlwind. All the planning and preparation, the decorating, the creation of costumes, the accumulation of candy all came and went in the blink of an eye.

It was a fun, spooky, exhausting holiday with many rewards (in bright wrappers). Sit back and relive one of my favorite holidays with me:
